Our 2026 Adult Mission Study

A Deep Knowing: Adult Curriculum

In A Deep Knowing: Experiencing Emmanuel Through Every Part of Our Lives, author Linda Furtado invites you to encounter “God with us” in powerful, personal, and transformative ways. This eight-session curriculum opens a path to explore how Emmanuel is revealed throughout Scripture—and how that same divine presence continues to walk with us today.

Each session encourages you to pause, reflect, and take a closer look at the stories of faith found in the Bible. Through thoughtful readings, meaningful discussions, and personal reflection, you’ll uncover connections between those ancient stories and your own life. As you journey with others, you’ll explore how God is present amid justice struggles, adversity, community heritage, and deep spiritual relationships.

Whether the stories are familiar or new, each encounter offers the opportunity to see Scripture with fresh eyes and gain a deeper understanding. This curriculum creates sacred space for spiritual growth, shared insight, and mutual support.

Resources for Children and Youth

Experiencing Emmanuel: United Women in Faith Children's Curriculum

Experiencing Emmanuel is a children’s curriculum that helps children give voice to the sacred. Faith is a lifelong journey of seeking and naming the presence of God in our lives. Scripture shows us how God’s people came to know God and each other and how those stories shaped their identity. As we interpret these stories, our sense of self and community is formed.

This curriculum invites children into that journey. Through exploring Scripture and shared experiences, children notice God’s grace at work in everyday life. Guided by the Wesleyan quadrilateral-Scripture, tradition, reason, and experience-each session includes: Journals for reflection, Retellings of sacred stories, Testimonies from people of faith, and Shared, hands-on experiences.

God With Us: Experiencing God's Presence in Our Lives - Youth Curriculum

When we read the Bible, it’s easy to see the main characters as heroes-or as people so extraordinary that their stories feel out of reach. The youth curriculum, God With Us: Experiencing God’s Presence in Our Lives, invites youth and their leaders to explore Scripture looking for God’s presence in the extraordinary and the everyday.

This curriculum encourages participants to wonder where and how God is at work in their lives, just as God was at work in the lives of people in Scripture. Each session invites fresh perspectives–sometimes challenging familiar interpretations and encouraging deeper reflection. Youth may encounter stories they’ve heard before with new insights and questions that spark meaningful conversation.

Youth and leaders alike are invited to approach the Bible with curiosity, honesty, and openness.

Our Love Offering will be a Gift to Mission Giving through United Women in Faith / United Methodist Women.
