United Methodist Women of the Western North Carolina Conference have a scholarship program for students attending one of the five United Methodist-supported universities and colleges in North Carolina.These schools are: Bennett College, Brevard College, Greensboro College, High Point University and Pfeiffer University. All applicants must be members of the United Methodist Church and must reside within the bounds of the Western North Carolina Conference.

The deadline for applications each year is March 1st.

The scholarship program is made possible in part by contributions from individual United Methodist Women and local units in the Western North Carolina Conference.

There are also several endowed & named scholarship funds that have been established as a result of generous gifts to the scholarship program through the years. The most recently endowed scholarship fund was established by a donor in 2001 to honor the memory and the commitment to education of Ernest R. Ellis and Lithie Phillips Ellis. Other endowed funds include: Fannie Mit Case Scholarship Fund, Carrie Forbis Ferguson Scholarship Fund, Ronda Robbins Memorial Scholarship Fund, Ethelyne Shelley Scholarship Fund, Weaver Memorial Scholarship Fund, and the Herbin-Motley Scholarship Fund. All scholarship funds are administered by the Scholarship Committee of the Western North Carolina Conference United Methodist Women.
