2020 Southeastern Jurisdiction Quadrennial Meeting

SEJ 2020 ONLINE REGISTRATION: The registration fee for SEJ 2020 will be $185 (thru December 1, 2019), $210 (December 2 thru March 2, 2020), and $235 (after March 2 thru March 15, 2020).   • Registration is 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the hotel lobby on Friday, April 17, 2020. Persons arriving after 5:30 p.m. on Friday should make prior arrangements with Registrar, Gertrude Stewart. Registration will continue on Saturday 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 a.m.
  • The Mission Event will be Friday, April 17 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The mission event will be at Dumas Wesley Community Center, a national mission institution in the Mobile, AL area. Persons participating will meet at the hotel at 9:00 a.m., and depart for Dumas at 9:30 a.m., returning to the hotel about 2:30 p.m. There is a $35 fee (to be paid during online registration) to participate in the mission event, which includes transportation.
  • The Quadrennial Meeting opens at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, April 17th.
  • On Saturday, April 18th, the opening session begins at 8:00 a.m., followed by workshops (9:30 a.m. to Noon, Lunch & second workshops (12:30 p.m. to 2:00pm, and afternoon session 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., and a banquet dinner at 7:00 p.m..
  • On Sunday, April 19th, the meeting begins at 9:00 a.m. and ends at noon.

  • Participate in worship, Bible study, workshops, fellowship and celebration
  • Browse the program resource room and the display area
  • Participate in Hands-On Mission event.
  • Meet the SEJ Leadership Team and Nominees to United Methodist Women Board of Directors
  • Observe the election of United Methodist Women Directors by voting delegates
  • And much, much more!

All United Methodist Women in the Southeastern Jurisdiction are encouraged to attend!

  1. The SEJ Quadrennial Meeting will take place at the Renaissance Riverview Plaza Hotel, 64 South Water Street, Mobile, Alabama.
  2. The SEJ has reserved a block of rooms until March 15, 2020.  Cost of rooms: $129 plus tax per room/per night. When making reservations, you must mention Southeastern Jurisdiction United Methodist Women to get the special rate.  Reservations for the Renaissance Riverview Plaza can be made online by calling 800-922-3298 or 251-438-4000 and asking for a room in the “Southeastern Jurisdiction United Methodist Women” block to receive the special block rate of $129.

There will not be a Western North Carolina Conference United Methodist Women bus trip to SEJ 2020.  

    There will be scholarship opportunities for the SEJ 2020 Quadrennial Meeting: (See detailed information below)

    1. One $500 scholarship, and three $200 scholarship stipends will be awarded for the SEJ 2020 Quadrennial Meeting.
    2. Persons applying for scholarship assistance must be a member of a local or district unit of United Methodist Women within the Western North Carolina Conference, and must not have previously attended an SEJ Meeting.     3. Please complete the application form and provide all requested information, and send the completed form to: Nancy Reigel, Conference Treasurer, 375 Troy Norris Road, Boone, NC 28607. Scholarship applications must be received by February 10, 2020 in order to be considered. Scholarship recipients will be notified by the end of February.
