Voting during Annual Celebration Business Session:
 
In these extraordinary times, we needed to provide a way for the necessary business of our conference (election of officers for 2021, and adoption of pledge to mission and budget for 2021) to be cared for in a virtual setting. Zoom Webinar provides that possibility, and we will be using the polling feature of Zoom to handle the necessary voting.
 
In order to vote at our virtual annual celebration, you will need to do the following:
 
  • Using your registration confirmation email, you will need to use the unique link sent to you to join the Zoom Webinar for Annual Celebration…the business session will happen on Saturday, September 26th.
  • You will need to be logged in to the Zoom Webinar using an internet connected device: A computer, A tablet, or A Smartphone. It will not be possible to vote by just dialing in like a conference call. You will have to be logged in using Zoom.
  • Determine if you are a voting delegate. Our standing rules describe who are eligible voting delegates; you can read those rules on page 6 of the September issue of the Conference Gram at: https://wnccumw.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/2020-CG-Sept-Online-Final.pdf. Check with your local unit president to determine who the voting delegate(s) are from your local unit.

The United Methodist Women’s bylaws allow for nominations from the floor. If you wish to make a nomination from the floor, please use the form for Nominations from the floor for this year’s extraordinary virtual meeting and election. If you want to nominate for more than one office you must complete a form for each.

All nominations from the floor must be received by Julia Willis, 8833 NC Hwy 22 North, Climax, NC 27233-8225 or jawillis1@aol.com, using this form by 11:59pm on Tuesday, September 15, 2020.
