Health Safety Measures

The health and safety of our members and attendees is a top priority for United Women in Faith. We all want to meet in person, and experience the special gift of sharing time together for our Annual Celebration. To do that, we will continue to lean into doing no harm, and making efforts to keep everyone safe. With that in mind, the following health safety measures will be in place for our Annual Celebration. Please confirm below that you will follow our health safety measures:

• Mask wearing will be by personal choice for participants while inside buildings. Appropriate social distancing will be encouraged.
• Participants agree that they will stay home if they have any symptoms of illness, have tested positive, or have a known recent exposure to COVID or other illness.

Location:  Williamson’s Chapel United Methodist Church, 575 Brawley School Road, Mooresville, NC. The best exit to use from Interstate 77 is exit 33. See directions below.

Directions for best route to the church off of I-77:  

From the south:

• Take Exit 33
• Take a Left and go over the interstate
• Drive approx. 2-3 miles
• The church entrance will be on the Right before you get to the church building
• There’ll be an electronic brick sign with the church name on it

From the North:

• Take Exit 33
• Take a Right and stay on this road approx. 2-3 miles
• The church entrance will be on the Right before you get to the church building
• There’ll be an electronic brick sign with the church name on it

Keynote Speaker:  Sally Vonner
General Secretary & CEO for United Women in Faith

Sally Vonner oversees the implementation of the organization’s vision, mission, and strategic plan to positively impact the lives of women, children, and youth around the world. She collaborates with United Women in Faith’s senior executives from the Offices of the General Secretary, Connectional, Finance and Asset Management, Operations, and Transformation on day-to-day operations.

Vonner has served in many areas of The United Methodist Church — leading women’s retreats, as a jurisdictional conference delegate or alternate for three quadrennia, and in immigration assistance and reform, community development, and dismantling racism initiatives at jurisdiction and conference levels.

Vonner is a graduate of Perkins School of Theology with an M.Div. and Women’s Studies certification. She graduated from East Texas State University with a B.S. degree in Biology. She serves on the board of the Scarritt Bennett Center in Nashville, TN.

Hands On Mission – Annual Celebration 2025:

• Our Hands-On Mission Opportunity for the 2025 Annual Celebration will be:  School Supplies for Bethlehem Center (Winston-Salem) & Gift to Mission Cards.
• School Supplies for Bethlehem Center: Please help with School Supplies for the Bethlehem Center in Winston Salem. Bring your supplies to our Annual Celebration September 6th. Supplies needed:  Underwear for sizes 2-4, childproof ✂️ scissors, crayons, construction paper, rulers, washable paint, and washable markers. Any questions with getting your donations to the Bethlehem Center, please call Vickie Brown at 336-596-5523.
• Gift to Mission Cards – A Gift to Mission card honors someone in her or his name with an undesignated Gift to Mission of at least $5.00. Gift to Mission is one of the five channels of Mission Giving. Mission Giving supports the total program of mission carried out by United Women in Faith. With your gift, you honor someone, and you make a difference in the lives of women, children, and youth…around the world. Gift to Mission cards will be available in the registration room during Annual Meeting. • Gift in Memory Cards – A Gift in Memory honors the memory of a much-loved family member or friend by making possible additional mission work in the United States and around the world. Gift in Memory cards represent a gift of a minimum of $5.00. The cards can be obtained for free, so that they are readily available when needed. [More about Gift in Memory]
